Have you written something – a book, a blog post, a website, an essay – and would like to feel confident that it looks polished and professional?
That’s where copyediting comes in!
Your writing will shine with proper punctuation and grammar, and a second set of eyes can raise any questions that a reader may have.
My name is Melissa, and I have a somewhat unusual knack for spotting grammatical errors. Maybe it comes from spending my entire childhood reading, but correct grammar seems to be second nature for me.
I have been informally correcting papers and resumes and other such things for family and friends since college, and since 2006, I have worked as a proofreader and copy editor at weekly newspapers. My editing experience at these jobs covers everything from advertising to feature stories and short press releases to pages of names and numbers in the delinquent tax notices.
I am now looking to expand this work beyond my day job, and as I get started freelancing, I am offering an introductory price.
What you’ll get from my editing:
- Grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors corrected
- Suggestions made as to specific wording to make your writing the best it can be
- An experienced set of eyes on your work to alert you of anything that doesn’t look or sound just right
- That invaluable outside perspective to spot anything that makes sense to you as the writer but may not be clear to your readers
Send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll chat about your project and what the cost would be.
I look forward to working with you!
